The Senior Strategist participates in framing a client’s business challenges, determining the optimal approach to develop required deliverables, and establishing the brand and/or communications strategy that will best address those challenges in forward-looking and far-reaching ways.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of a client’s business situation in the context of their industry, economic environment, customer dynamics and competitive landscape.
  • Participate in VSA's strategic efforts on behalf of the client, including: industry and competitive analysis; consumer/stakeholder research and analysis; organizational / cultural analysis; brand positioning and architecture; multi-year messaging and communications planning; development of metrics for success.
  • Participate in strategic conversations with clients at the highest level of their organization, and contribute to long-term, programmatic relationships.
  • Develop primary research including quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
  • Develop diagrams, frameworks and other conceptual models to define and contextualize key strategic elements, insights, or other important inputs.
  • Contribute to the creation of strategy deliverables, presentations, and discussion documents including research findings, creative briefs, brand concepts, etc. in highly logical ways that clarify key points and helps clients them difficult strategic decisions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years developing strategies for brand development, marketing communications, organizational change related to brand or marketing initiatives or business transformation across a variety of disciplines.
  • Experience developing market and consumer / customer insights, driving solutions that solve significant brand and business problems, analyzing and prioritizing media and communications channels
  • Understanding of and experience with corporate / brand strategy / customer strategy, communications planning, and integrated communications.
  • Exceptional client relationship skills and the ability to translate an idea into action.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
