Associate Director, User Experience

The Associate Director, UX is part of a team responsible for conceptualizing, chartering, designing, and activating user interfaces on various platforms. They are responsible for creating compelling experiences that balance user intent, client needs, and performance.

  • Extract and interpret client needs and interact closely with the team to create and refine a chosen direction, identifying alternative strategies for achieving clients’ objectives.
  • Design and conduct research to ensure that all projects are driven by user needs and business outcomes, including adapting strategies to changing context or new evidence.
  • Conceive of innovative user experiences that result in improved user engagement, brand affinity, and content consumption.
  • Model proposed user experiences though maps, wireframes, workflow diagrams, functionality requirements, interaction specifications, and prototypes.
  • Explain to project teams and clients how proposed solutions deliver on strategic goals, business goals, and user needs.
  • Design and conduct usability testing to inform additional iterations of the digital experience.
  • Contribute to new business development efforts, including pitches, RFP responses, and scoping work.
  • Foster a working environment that promotes and embraces independent and creative thinking, diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.


The Associate Creative Director, UX has these qualifications: 


  • 6 to 9 years of information architecture and/or UX design experience.
  • Experience managing resources and leading project teams. 
  • Proven client-facing skills, responding well to client input and feedback.
  • Experience presenting work with clarity and persuasiveness.

  • Impeccable attention to details.
  • Skills in problem solving, judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making.
  • The ability to see a big idea realized through a series of individual user interactions.
  • Self-motivation and the willingness to set personal goals and work independently in a collaborative team setting.
  • Expert-level working knowledge of interface design software, including Sketch, InVision, and Figma.
  • Ability to work efficiently while managing deadlines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Versatility and the ability to handle multiple projects and re-prioritizations.
